The Rail Park Launches the Tire Swing Fund

On #GivingTuesdayNow, we are giving back to those who have always been there for us.

Today, we are excited to launch the Tire Swing Funda new initiative to catalyze neighborhood-driven programs and support Philadelphia cultural producers through microgranting opportunities. We know that the pandemic has greatly impacted the local creative economy, postponing events at the Rail Park and across the City. Our community has been with us from the start and today we hope to offer some support to the artists, organizations, businesses, and residents who make the Rail Park vibrant, diverse, and unlike any other park in the world.Through the Tire Swing Fund, the Rail Park is seeking to fund projects that celebrate communities and grow connectivity while adhering to social distancing guidelines. Think virtual workshops, community recipe collections, livestreamed performances -- anything you can dream up and the more creative the better! Microgrants will range up to $700 for individuals or $1200 for collaborations. Individuals and organizations are eligible to apply.Have an idea? You can learn more and submit an application at therailpark.org/tire-swing-fund. Applications are due May 22, 2020.

The Tire Swing Fund is made possible by the Knight Foundation & 880 Cities through the Emerging City Champions program. To support initiatives like the Tire Swing Fund and continued programming at the Rail Park, consider donating today.
